IJ Start Canon Pixma MG5220 Configuration– The Canon Pixma MG5220 color Inkjet Multifunction (print/scan/copy) offers fast speed and output quality and is competitively priced ($150 on August 25th, 2010). Suitable for families and telecommuters who need light scanning.
The Pixma mg 5220 is very easy to install via USB or wireless. Canon installation software will even add printers automatically on your Mac. The 2 inch color LCD is easily turned up for easy viewing and the menus are easy to navigate and other controls are well positioned. Canon offers a comprehensive suite of software that takes full advantage of everything from scanning to copying to creating great photos.
Most home MFPs, such as the MG 5220, do not have an automatic document feeder to scan multi-page documents. We miss it in a machine that is possible or not. The impressive paper processing of the MG 5220 includes automatic duplex printing (double-sided printing), an undermount drawer for plain paper, and a vertical rear feed (vertical rear feed) for heavy media. The scanner covers the telescope and receives thick materials. Memory card slots Support CompactFlash, memory sticks, SD cards and xd-picture cards.
The MG 5220 was performed very well in our tests. If the text on plain black and white paper is printed mostly in black and white, the MG 5220 is a quick result of 8ppm on the Mac, on page 7.8 per minute on the PC. Photo of snapshot size averaged 2.3 p m average on PC. On a Mac, the full page picture at high resolution took a long time. It took almost two minutes. The color scan is fast, but the monochrome copy has arrived in the middle of the pack as a whole.
As for the output quality, the speed was fast and well done. In the default settings we use for testing, the text quality is pretty good, but when you choose High quality from the driver, the output turns almost like a laser (a little slower). These results are ideal for business communication, etc. For graphics, a test photograph that looks too bright on plain paper was fantastic on Canon’s photo paper. The color photo scan looks dark, but black and white scans and copies are crisp.
Ink costs are reasonable. Separate inks include $16, 341 black cartridges (4.7 cents per page) and 500 to 520 pages (2.7 to 2.8 cents per page) of cyan, magenta, and yellow cartridges. The photo-only black is $14 and is used for approximately 660 photographic images (or adds a little amount to the general document). The price of the four-color page is about 13 cents.
The Canon Pixma MG 5220 offers speed, high image quality and features at a reasonable price. For a similar model with an automatic document feeder, check the Canon Pixma m x 350.
